Amber van der Eijk

Amber van der Eijk, a graduate of Kine Concept Ontario is an Ontario liscenced and a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. As a respected professional in her field, she has provided massage therapy services to the local and outlying communities for a few years.Amber is trained in General Swedish Massage techniques, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular therapy, Reiki, pregnancy massage, sports massage, rehabilitative treatments, remedial exercises and much more. She specializes in promoting pain relief, rehabilitative processes for sports or other injuries, and improvement in chronic/repetitive conditions. Stress reduction and relaxation are also important in today’s world.

She views bodywork as a necessary, natural form of health care, and often works in conjunction with physicians, physical therapists and other bodywork practioners, complimenting their modalities to provide clients with massage techniques tailored to their individual needs and conditions.

Many of Amber’s clients are either recovering from orthopaedic injuries or seeking relief from chronic musculoskeletal pain. In practically every instance, massage is profoundly effective in relieving discomfort by restoring better function to the injured or affected area(s), increasing overall flexibility and reducing stress.

Thus, her work usually compliments the modalities most routinely recommended by orthopaedic physicians. As Amber’s client, you will receive caring, intelligent and individualized attention…you deserve nothing less from your massage therapist.

Peter Roach

Registered Massage Therapist

After several years working as a secondary school teacher, social worker, and educational assistant at TVO Ontario, I chose another path and became a Registered Massage Therapist in 1985. I began my practice in Toronto in 1986 and moved to Stratford in 1987. I ran a private practice as Perth Massage Therapy, until I joined Lighthouse Massage in September, 2011. Interesting enough, both Neil and I were the first Massage Therapists in Stratford. Neil and I have had the opportunity to work together before. Neil was the President of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, and I was an examiner for the College for 1992-1994. I was also a Peer Assessor for the College from 2000-2007. I subsequently ran for a position on the council and was the President for three years. I was priviledged to guide the CMTO through its new 10 year strategic plan, working with the Massage Therapy Association and the schools.

Through out the years of my practice, I have treated a wide variety of conditions (particularily medical in nature). I also offer treatments in a home, hospital, and long term care facility setting. Over the years, I have been impressed with how effective massage therapy has been in treating many chronic conditions. I have seen massage therapy provide relief, pain reduction, and in some cases increased mobility. The years of practice and the variety of conditions I have treated, have allowed me to hone my assessment technique so I can deliver a more effective treatment. I welcome new clients and I am excited to work with you.
